2026

Rooted in light, time and emotion, continuing my response to place and the changing moods of land and sea.

Current work

This ongoing body of work continues my response to land, sea and weather, while marking a return to more textured, layered surfaces. Built through scraping, staining and revealing, the paintings place greater emphasis on movement, mark-making and material presence – still rooted in atmosphere and place, but becoming more physical and expressive as the series develops.

If you would like to see any of the paintings in person, or if anything catches your eye, please get in touch to arrange a studio visit or ask for more details. Works shown in the portfolio may be available, and I’ve added a selected group of recent paintings to my Available Paintings page for easier browsing and buying online.

Earlier this year, my practice became quieter and more pared back, with much of the work made in ink on wood. With simpler compositions and more restrained surfaces, these paintings lean more towards open, atmospheric landscape – suggestive rather than descriptive.
